Sarine Diamond Reports and Precision Measurements
Sarine Technologies produces analytical equipment for the diamond trade. Their most popular tool is their non-contact measuring device known as
Sarine DiaScan™. Using very sensitive digital photography, this sophisticated device can quickly and accurately measure all facets of a polished diamond. The data from the measurements, which compiles to a 3D model of the diamond, is fed to a software program (Sarine DiaMension) that can produce a variety of different reports and
computer generated images. The primary file produced, the .srn file, can be read by other specialty software programs to generate additional diagnostics of the 3D model. *You will regularly see this technology referred to as “Sarin”, however the company officially changed their name to “Sarine” in January of 2014.

The Basic Sarine Report
Once the diamond has been scanned by the DiaScan™ device, various report can be generated. Whiteflash posts a modified version of a Sarine report to our diamond detail pages. This basic report shows key data in an easy to understand graphical format. The data is derived from the official Sarine scan done at AGS Laboratories. (Currently no Sarine report is posted for GIA diamonds. However, basic or more advanced Sarine reports for our GIA diamonds are available by request.)

The Advanced Manufacturers Sarine Report
A more advanced report is available showing detailed measurements of all the facets, not just the averaged measurements of the key facets. For someone interested in seeing this level of detail, Whiteflash will supply advanced reports on request. This report will be derived from an in-house scan of the diamond which may be slightly different from the official scan at the lab. (*More on instrumentation deviation and calibration below)

Imbedded AGS and GIA Software
Diamension™ is also compatible with versions of the AGS Light Performance and GIA Facetware™ cut grading software programs. These programs can be purchased from AGS and GIA and imbedded as add-ons into the Sarine software. This enables real time cut grade estimates, and in the case of the AGS Software, the ability to generate
ASET light maps.

Native Sarine Files
Whiteflash will also make the raw .srn file available to customers upon request. This file is useful in order to run advanced diagnostics on other software such as
DiamCalc by Octonus and the free
AGS Visual Proportion Analyzer. Only specialty software programs will be able to read .srn files, but the DiaMension also creates a .stl file that can be read by many CAD programs. It will produce a wire frame model of the diamond.
Sarine Web Viewer
Sarine had previously offered a free web viewer with which to analyze any diamond for which you have a .srn file. It would enable photorealistic video rendering and the ability to manipulate and view the diamond in different ways. That viewer is no longer available and currently the only programs we know of for remote analysis are the ones mentioned above.
